Minnesota Lawyer stands up to Trump Travel Ban to Keep Families Together

One of the founding principles of the United States is that anyone who needed a home was welcome here.  It is etched into the Statute of Liberty, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” Since Donald Trump announced his candidacy for president, he has taken a hard line on immigration, promising to build a wall between the United States and Mexico, denouncing amnesty for those who have settled in the United States and deporting more people.

One measure President Trump tried to implement was the travel ban that focuses on immigrants from six primarily Muslim countries, including Somalia.  Some people may applaud his efforts to limit and deport more immigrants, but his efforts has real life consequences such as splitting families and denying entry to people who are otherwise qualified to with their relatives.

This month’s announcement of a renewed travel ban and the elimination of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program earlier last month, coupled with other policy changes and anti-immigrant/refugee rhetoric has brought a heightened level of anxiety to the members of our community.

Many immigrants are giving up without a fight, feeling that no one is on their side. The good news is that there are people who are willing to fight for the rights of everyone. Abdinasir Abdulahi who is AMA law firm’s principal attorney and his team are leading that cause. The AMA Law Group lawyers are speaking, acting, advocating and creating awareness to support the strength and resiliency of immigrants and refugees across the United States.

Attorney Abdinasir Abdulahi who established the AMA Law Group in 2010, he was also nominated to the The National Black Lawyers – Top 100.  Abdinasir Abdullahi have been interviewed by both national and international media about President Trump’s executive order on immigration. Most importantly his clear and concise updates about the travel ban that he posts on his social media pages are always trending and easy to understand.

Immigration law is tricky to understand at the best of times. Some people don’t even realize that there’s a problem until they are served with papers, requiring them to appear for removal proceedings. The AMA Law Group and their team of qualified and knowledgeable immigration lawyers have come to the defense of these people; in particular immigrants from Somalia and other East African countries who left behind countries mired in civil strife and have no place to go back to and found security and freedom here.

The AMA Law Group, provides advice and support for all immigrants in all areas of immigration law.  They represent and defend clients in all 50 states.  They have helped countless families and individuals fight for their right to live and work in the United States.    It doesn’t matter what kind of immigration issue someone is facing, this law firm has been ready to fight the good fight.

It’s important to remember during this dark time under the Trump administration that there are people who are willing to fight for your right to stay in the land that you love with the people you love. No one has the right to split up a family and forcibly eject someone without a legal battle. No one should give up. Seek advice and secure a better future for yourself and your whole family. Tusmotimes endorses AMA Law Group for helping the most vulnerable in our East African communities.
